First Tennis Match of Season at Grand Harbor on March 30, 2017

Attention Stingray Tennis Team Parents,

Our first match of the season is Thursday, March 30, against Gifford Middle School. The match will be played at the Grand Harbor Country Club, located at 4985 Club Terrace in Vero Beach. To get there from Storm Grove, turn right on 58th Ave, turn left on 53rd St, cross US1, and turn right on Indian River Boulevard. The Grand Harbor entrance will be 1/2 mile down Indian River Boulevard on the left. It is a gated community. At the gate you will need to tell them your child's name and whoever else is in your car. Tell them you are there for the Middle School tennis match. They will have a list of all of the players on the team. They will give you a permit to enter and give you directions to the tennis facility.

Students need to report to the courts at 3:45. There will be a short time to warm up then the matches will begin. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their kids play.

Uniforms have not arrived yet and Grand Harbor has a dress code that we must follow. Players must wear "half-white" outfits, meaning the shirt or shorts or skirt must be white. Please make sure that your child is dressed in this manner.

Good sportsmanship is required. Win or lose, it does not matter. What matters is that we show good character. We are lucky to have Grand Harbor sponsor us and we want to be welcome back.

There is no practice on Friday. Next week, we have practices on Tuesday and Wednesday and another match on Thursday, also at Grand Harbor. That match will be against the Masters Academy.

Regarding practices, students are expected to attend all practices unless arrangements have been made with Coach Daugherty. Parents must contact Coach Daugherty in advance if their child is going to be absent for practice (or will miss a match).

We had a good first two days of practice. Our team is young and inexperienced, but they are great kids and we are going to have a great year!

See you tomorrow at Grand Harbor!

Coach Mike Daugherty
